 My teachers' idea of my time is that it's divided into two parts: time for school, and time to do homework. Everything else, be it hobbies, school trips, holidays, is a waste of time, and if you do one of those things you're basically slacking off. Very. Very good point. It's so bullshit to say school was easy and that working is harder (as someone who finished school and is now working full time).  Oh. Well my wife's district (I'm mid credential) doesn't have people write out lesson plans. They just kind of say go. So just thinking and going, "Hmmm... I think I'll try this tomorrow." is totally normal and actually encouraged. They very much have a culture of I'll see your lesson; you don't need to write it out.We don't require our teachers to write out lesson plans per say and it would be difficult to enforce in a very large district (I'm in a gigantic one). For the experienced teachers who know the content like the back of their hand, lesson plans are truly just a formality - they know what will be happening and they can make adjustments as needed. Admins can definitely see if things are going right and wrong regardless
