That's why Tech N9ne started touring again, it's where they make most of their money. I deal table games and last night I spent the better part of two hours talking music with a professional sound engineer who has been in the industry for 30 years. He said the #1 way to make money in the industry is touring. Think about it this way. You go to a smaller show with a thousand people and spent $45 for the ticket. Even if the band only gets $10 per ticket and split it four ways that's still $2500 per person, per show. Multiply that by just 50 shows and that person is now upper class, saving and investing assuming they're managing their money properly. And a thousand people isn't a lot of people, and most of them don't make that low of a percentage of ticket sales. Sounds like the dude you guys are talking about signed a shady deal.Tech N9ne is considered an independent artist, though. Most bands that sell out large stadiums have the vast majority of ticket sales taken by the label.
