 I have a friend who got medically discharged from the US Army during boot camp. Jumped down off one of those rope&wall obstacles (like in Officer and a Gentleman) and blew out his knee. This was right in the middle of the Gulf War, and he can legitimately claim injured gulf war veteran status. He used it to get an automatic hire from the US Census- twice.TBH, I think it's kinda ok, since he fulfilled his obligation and was willing to serve. And while technically his injury came earlier than expected, it was a legit injury that affects him to this day. But that never stopped me from teasing the hell out of him for it, especially after Skyrim came out.Finally was able to prove a guy I know has been lying for years about his service. Claimed to be a mp for 4 years in Iraq. He claimed his rank was Sargent major but really was a E-2 private. He wears the military style boots and a hat with the Velcro for patches, dog tags out on display at all times even over his coat in the winter. Turns out he did a full year and a half after boot camp all here in the states and was medically discharged after snapping his hamstring. Now you may think “oh well that probably Nice Love Camera Sunflower Shirt happened doing something at work or on the battlefield”. Nope, this happened getting out of bed one day. How? Fuck if I know but we got proof that was the case. He has been able to get the v.a to send him copious amounts of good drugs though ever sense that he goes through in a matter of days, all for free. They also pay for his rent in full each month. Is it still stolen valor if they did serve but lie about all of it?Yeah, when they lie to that extent. How on earth would an E2 try and pass for Sgt. Major? That's 20 years, easy, plus a certain level of experience and.....attitude. I respect somebody who says, "Yeah, I tried but I didn't last long," or "It just wasn't for me."  These Vets have been shot at for years in Iraq and Afghanistan, of course they don’t Flench. They also don’t represent the majority of us and the military does not condone racism what so ever. Like everywhere though, I know it exists and these people do come from somewhere. This is horrible.In a high pressure situation it's very easy to squeeze and discharge a weapon into the ground or whatever the gun is pointed at if for some reason you have no trigger discipline. for striker-fired handguns it only takes 5-8 pounds of pressure on the trigger and some of these handguns have no external safety switches so you just pull the trigger and it goes bang.I think our local news is still focused on the property damage. This is not sexualizing a teenager. Its not perfect the where the bends in the body are, but its not that bad. Clearly people have different bodies and clothes will fit differently on them, what is happening is not fake or forced. They are made characters. But they are to be diverse, not just with personalitys but looks too and that includes the body.
