 My grandmother died of Alzheimer's, which from what I understand has similar symptoms. My Opa once told me that by the end she used to call to I’m Not Everyone’s Cup Of Tea But I Drink Coffee So Fuck Em Shirt him but didn't recognize him (she "lost" a couple of decades, so he was much too old for who she expected). But the last time she spoke, she sort of snapped back to her own self and asked him if he'd stay by her side until the end. When he said yes, they kissed and she peacefully fell asleep for the last time.My father passed away 3 weeks ago from covid. He was 84 and suffering from late stage dementia so the relative peaceful and quick passing was actually a blessing for him. He had not been able to put together a sentence for at least 5 years but he did know who I was even though he couldn't express it. He will always appreciate the time you spend with him and so will you. It is going to change everything in your relationship but be there for him and good luck to you. It is a truly horrible disease.
