What I can tell you about this is that even though he was scared and hurt me with his words a time or 3, he did one time tell me that he knows that he knows me but he doesn't know me. He used to call me sugar. I would tell him, "don't worry, grandpa, I'm your sugar" and he would smile. He still had no idea who I was, but a part of me likes to think his emotions told him he loved me regardless. I wish you strength and healing. Take care of yourself!
